An orphan film is a motion picture work that has been abandoned by its owner or copyright holder; also, any film that has suffered neglect. The neglect might be physical (a deteriorated film print), commercial (an unreleased movie), cultural (censored footage) or historical. My strongest attraction are to these novelties and to the oft-maligned, overlooked and occasionally disputed masterpieces. Some are certainly better than others but they will all reveal themselves notable in one way or another. I sincerely hope you find the movies listed on this site worthwhile.
